Of course, there are other alternatives available. Microsoft's relatively new accounting program - Small Business Accounting - is also an excellent program. We were able to participate in its beta testing, and work with it first hand for many weeks. Microsoft spent a lot of time incorporating features recommended by its beta testers, and took the time to do it right. Nonetheless, when it became available, we chose to stick with QuickBooks because of familiarity and overall satisfaction. We began using QuickBooks in July 1995 when we initially incorporated our SoHo business, and have used it ever since.
